What is Paratransit Service?

Paratransit (or Dial-a-Ride) is an alternative mode of flexible passenger transportation that does not follow fixed routes or schedules. Typically mini-buses or mini-vans are used to provide paratransit service, but also share taxis are important providers. Paratransit services may vary considerably on the degree of flexibility they provide their customers. Paratransit services are operated by public transit agencies, community groups or not-for-profit organizations. Private companies are known operators as well.

Our Services

Global Paratransit is a curb-to-curb, shared-ride service provided to functionally disabled, ADA paratransit eligible individuals in our community. Our transportation service extends to ADA eligible individuals whose physical abilities restrict them from using the bus or light rail services, for all or some of their trips.

GPI operates on a similar schedule as most buses in LA County. Regular service times offered are from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, 7 Days a week. As a transit service, we provide transportation assistance for individuals needing transport to work, home, medical appointments, grocery stores and other basic and necessary locations.

We do not offer taxi cab service, emergency medical or social service transportation, neither are we a door-to-door or private transportation service. Several riders may be transported in the same vehicle at one time. As a shared ride transport service, your travel time will be more similar to a fixed bus route, rather than a car or taxi.
